Keeping a Travel Journal

It is nice to keep a travel journal or a travel blog, and write about travel memories, discoveries and learning.  A journal is a wonderful memoir.  When writing a travel journal or blogging about it, your travel experiences will be richer.  When you write your travel journal, think about what you want to remember in years to come.  You want to include the details such as: dates, times, places, and costs, and details about what you did, where you went, and what you have seen.  Your journal has to be fun and inspiring.  Document your itinerary at the front of your journal.  You can keep track of how your itinerary changes as you travel.  Writing every day, even small details will help you maintain your momentum.  You can find theme based on things, and activities that made you smile.  Write about what you did, and what you learned, how this travel is changing you, what has surprised you.  When you’re home sharing your travel stories, or perhaps years later when someone asks you for a recommendation, you’ll want to remember some of the details of the day.  Try to write some details about your travel experiences in bullet points every day such as: where you stayed, where you got that fantastic coffee, the restaurant you want to make sure no one goes to, and tasteful dish that you tried.  Capture the details that you think will be important.  If you are artistic and creative, do not afraid to sketch what you saw.  Have glue with you.  So, you can add theater tickets, postcards, or part of a brochure to make your pages interesting. Combined with the photographs, these journals help us remember the details of what would otherwise be a faded memory.

•Think about what you saw that surprised you.

•Think about what amused you.

•Think about the sights, smells, tastes, and sounds.

•What was the name of that guide, site, etc?

•Take a picture of that historic plaque to help you with details you may want later.

Happy Travel Journaling!

Some suggestion to travel on budget

These days, traveling is considered as luxury for most people. However, traveling does not mean spending a large amounts of money on expensive airfare and hotel accommodations. There are many budget-friendly options that can be taken in order to get to the destination.  Nowadays, internet provides a good way to research for good air fares, trains, buses, and hotels.  It is important to search several websites in order to find the best budget friendly deals.  Plan in advance and always visit discount websites to find good deals.  I always use several flight comparison websites such as: kayak, hotwires, Travelocity, Expedia, skyscanner, travelsupermarket, travelzoo, cheapOair, and, etc.  If you are flexible with your travel days, you can find better deals.   Moreover, if you are willing to travel off season, you have a better chance to save money.  You can book a hostels for your accommodations, which is cheaper than a hotel room.  I usually, walk around a lot when I travel, or I take public transportations.  Walking around gives me a chance to talk to people who seem friendly and ask for suggestions, and it gives me the chance to see the city and to take pictures.  I enjoy scenic walks as a part of my travel experience. Also, I eat more at lunch than dinners.  Lunches are often less expensive than dinners. Visiting the tourist information centers in the area, where you can also obtain informational packets or ask the guides for advice on how you can maximize your stay and experience without spending too much. Many visitors bureaus will have discount transit passes.

Importance of traveling

I have been traveling since the age of 3.  My parents liked to travel a lot.  As a result, I was very privileged that I was given the opportunity to travel.  I believe that traveling can develop a person’s character.  Traveling is something that you cannot learn in a classroom.   As a traveler, I discovered new beautiful, and interesting places, and I got to experience different cultures that I was not aware of.  Traveling has been a part of me.  I am determined to keep traveling and to see new places.  Traveling does not necessarily have to be out of the country, or an expensive trip.  Even a road trip is a good idea.  Traveling helps people to broaden their horizons.

Traveling

I love to travel.  I have visited many places around the world, and many more places are on my list to visit.  I like to travel on budget, and I am always looking for ways in which I can find deals.  I read many travel books, read travel magazine and articles.  I even took classes and got certification in travel and hospitality.  My goal is to travel around the world, and perhaps teach ESL in the near future.  Share ideas, websites, and effective strategies that you have used in order to travel on budget.
